Ohanaeze: Wike and Akpabio Have Delivered Niger Delta to Tinubu Already

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nigeria’s premier Igbo sociocultural organization, has released a comprehensive statement asserting that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirants are inadequately positioned to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. The organization’s Deputy President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, articulated the group’s position through a detailed press release that questioned the credentials and capacity of the opposition coalition.

The statement identified what Ohanaeze Ndigbo described as fundamental character flaws among ADC leadership, alleging connections to corruption and state capture activities. The organization specifically targeted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Transport Minister Chibuike Amaechi, citing various grievances related to their past actions affecting the Southeast region.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo emphasized its continued allegiance to the Tinubu administration, referencing decisions made during recent Igbo Day celebrations in Asaba, Delta State, where Igbo leaders reportedly agreed to support the current government. The organization projected that key members of Tinubu’s cabinet would secure electoral victories across Nigeria’s major regions, citing Defence Minister Bello Matawelle and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for northern states, Works Minister Dave Umahi for the Southeast, and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for the Niger Delta.

The press release concluded with a call for transparency regarding Niger Delta Development Commission investigations, particularly concerning allegations against Mrs. Judith Amaechi involving purported fraudulent activities worth 48 billion Naira related to non-existent women’s training programs in the Niger Delta region.
